Reef Master RODI Filter systems includes a clear uv resistant sump housing on the di filter, lab grade components made in the USA, NSF certified and FDA approved. A 5 micron carbon block followed by a 1 micron carbon block make up the prefilter of the rodi filter. The di filter uses color changing di media which changes color to indicate when the media is exhausted and needs a replacement color changing di filter cartridge. The Osmotic™ Reef Master rodi filter system features a membrane back flush valve (prolongs ro membrane life and increases efficiency). The auto shut off valve allows attaching the ro filter to a float to a storage vessel or filter sump. A stainless steel poly float is included. This standard equipment on Osmotic Reef Master RODI Filters is sold as add on options on other filter brands. They involve cutting all tubing and reconfiguring the entire tubing system to install the auto shut off valve. Osmotic Reef Master rodi filter systems have everything necessary for optimum performance installed as standard equipment. Very user friendly.

Osmotic tap water filter systems provide peace of mind when using tap water to fill aquariums, water plants, or pets. CGAC catalytic carbon filters remove chloramines from your tap water. Cities in the USA have switched from using chlorine to using chloramines as the disinfecting agent in their municipal tap water supplies. Chloramines are a combination of chlorine and ammonia. Both are harmful to tropical fish, plants and animals. Unlike chlorine and even early forms of chloramines, which is easily removed by most types of carbon filters, the latest form of chloramines in current use has a strong bond and is difficult to remove without using specialized filters designed for chloramine removal. CGAC catalytic carbon filters are designed specifically for removing chloramines from your tap water. When chloramines are used to disinfect city water supplies, large doses of chlorine are added every couple months to remove chlorine residuals from the pipe distribution network. This is similar to shocking a swimming pool with a large dose of chlorine to remove chlorine residual (pipe cleaning). When this is done the chlorine odor of the tap water becomes obvious. Many additional substances in drinking water can harm sensitive aquaria inhabitants. The beneficial nitrifying bacteria, living in the aquarium filter, breaking down harmful waste products and are extremely sensitive to chlorine which is designed to kill bacteria. Often aquarium hobbyists change a portion of aquarium water with tap water and immediately see disturbing changes in the fish. This can occur even with the use of some popular dechlorinating water conditioners. This includes loss of slime coat, loss of balance and locomotion and can result in death. CGAC catalytic carbon tap water filtration is the best insurance you can have for peace of mind that the water you are using is not harmful to your tropical fish. Our tap water filtration consists of specially formulated catalytic carbon designed to remove chloramines from tap water. These filters are specially designed for a longer contact time flow rate of water and the media. These filters outperform the loose media refillable filters sold for Chloramine removal. The tap water filter has 1/2" hose barbs which easily tie into existing 1/2" clear tubing type hose. Maximum water temperature is rated at 120 degrees, which makes the filter warm water safe. These are the highest performing tap water filter systems on the market today.
